Hartwick Pines Winter Visit

My wife, parents, and I went to Hartwick Pines, near Grayling Michigan a couple of Saturdays ago. I was looking for some information for an article I was working on regarding reforestation and the effects on wildlife and hunting for The Inside Spread . The Information Center had the information I was looking for on both the effects of old forest logging and conservation efforts.

It had been many years since I had visited Hartwick Pines, so we drove there both to pick up some information and see the beauty. The visitor’s center is accessible to everyone, even with the snow. It was a short visit to the Information Center, but it was a fun day. I’d recommend taking a trip there if you get the chance. For the more adventurous they have trails for snowshoe treks and cross-country skiing on weekends in the winter. Having never been to Hartwick Pines in the winter I found it a beautiful trip.

Be watching for the upcoming article “From Devastation to Conservation” on the Inside Spread.

If you want more information on events or hours of Hartwick Pines visit the website.

Blessings on the Journey,
