The most confident person I know isn’t someone everyone may think is the most intelligent. He isn’t who someone would think is famous. He isn’t someone who would appear to be the most outgoing person in the room. His confidence doesn’t see recognition or fame and fortune.
His confidence doesn’t flow from any of the things that pressure or push us from the outside. His confidence flows from deep inside. It creates peace in his demeanor which flows out of him to calm those around.
His confidence doesn’t demand his own way, but encourages others to learn and stand on their own. He patiently waits for anyone’s question before forcing his advice upon them.
He is not perfect, but even mistakes are made he always looks for the lesson to learn to better the next time. He doesn’t expect perfection but encourages others to do their best.
He tries to be prepared, knowing that unknowns can always throw us onto a new path. He made sure there was wood to heat the home, food to feed the family, a home to live in, and a place of peace for the family to rest.
His confidence isn’t built upon himself but flows from his connection to the eternal confidence of God. His own relationship with Jesus, and his own internal spiritual growth flows into a room allowing others to know they can turn to him for wisdom.
Dad’s confidence stands as an example to all, and hopefully one day we can all live up to his solid foundation.
Blessings on the Journey,
Dan
