Prologue
After surviving their struggle on Hyperborea, Nash Braveheart and his young crew were assigned to a new Triton Bomber. The Pegasus was a mid-sized ship that could carry a crew of six. There were small living quarters at the rear of the ship. It was equipped with front and rear auto-turrets and upper and lower personnel turrets. The ship had a rounded triangular-shaped reflecting panels to give it radar and sensor cloaking abilities. The weaponry included both rechargeable pulsar bombs and six mega-ton conventional bombs.
The four young members of the crew had been together for almost one year. They were now nearly inseparable. They were on their way to Avalon One, the headquarters of the Fidelian Knights. The Fidelian Abbey housed the center of their faith, the Academy of the Knights, and the leadership of the Council of Twelve. For over three hundred years since humanity arrived in the Elysium System, Avalon One had been a haven of peace for the Fidelians Knights, as they tried to protect humanity’s faith and most precious knowledge.
Twelve-year-old Skylar Knighthawk, a Fidelian Pledge had been recalled to Avalon One to face the Pledge’s Quest. It was the next step in advancing his training from Pledge to Squire. His cousin and mentor, Halie Ambrosius had to accompany him to the lush moon where they had grown up. She was there to see that he faithfully completed the test.
